Alternative Learning Pathways with Microcredentials

Opportunities for Learners, Earners and Employers

POIC’s greenhouse project integrates a microcredential program of career and technical training (CTE) and workforce development, in fields like telecoms, energy, small business, and agriculture. We’re creating multiple, stackable learning pathways by partnering with dual enrollment, career connected learning, community colleges, and workforce development or readiness programs.

This microcredential education program will be enhanced with a Learning Employment Record (LER) that documents workers’ knowledge and skills. LERs can be collected and displayed on a platform that will let learners, earners, and employers easily share employment opportunities, verifiable skills, and education microcredentials. This talent marketplace will connect rural and tribal communities with more and steadier agricultural jobs as well as high-skill, technical work.
